Hi kanasai167
getting the number of rows in a able is a simple SQL statement:
select count(*) from <schemaname>.<tabname>
Rows can get rejected if there is a unique contraint on the table or something similar.

Hi Brad, yes it is new and it comes with DB2 (at no extra cost). There are many possibilities mpnitoring locks - in the current and past versions but look for the newest (and often best) one - search for create event monitor for locking write to unformatted table.... db2pd might be an alternative - ...

Hi bcarlson, the DB2 error shown -911 with Reason Code 68 clearly states that you experienced a lock timeout. So this is NOT a deadlock true but the table you are loading seems to be lock by some other activity. Talk to your DBAs once again and tell them to check who is locking the object you are lo...

Re: Improving performance of DB2 insert
Hi Gazelle some thoughs from my side: DB2 Load is the right way to go on if the number of rows is that big. You have the option to specify a message file - use it and double check it after the load - you will find all relevant DB2 messages there and maybe a hint to the real problem causing the error...

Re: Logic needed
Hi kittu.raja, I have 3 columns as input and I have to generate the 4th column using the 3 columns ... can I achive this in a parallel job. Thanks in advance As your posting subject already states "Logic needed" you should first post the required logic instead of making us guessing it. So ...

Meaning of Link Types from DSJobReport
Hi, I am currently evaluating the XML JobReport results and I need to know what values and meanings the LinkTypes have in order to do the correct interpretation. Example: LinkType="3" I have searched the forum and DSAPI.h as well as JOBCONTROL.h but I could not find any details. The infoce...

Hi . You need either the patch or Fix Pack 1 to get the new XML functionality. You can get either from IBM Fix Central. What Ray wrote is the original intention but we have tried using the new stage and it works in a parallel job but not in a server job. We found following note: https://www-304.ibm....

Thanks Michael. Let's agree on what is local and what is remote. We installed Datastage engines with DB2 repository (in one server A) and this is the local DB2 instance. Is it correct ? Then we have another server (B) where we run another DB2 instance to store the data tables. This is the remote DB...

Hi, We did not specify the instance name (we only specified database name, user id and password) - and surprisingly, it works now. good to know What happens if we have 2 instances (instance A and instance B), and the same database name ? Well, one will be choosen - the one which is defined in the pr...

Re: DB2 Connector Remote instance
Hi le thuong - I can view the data with the Remote instance name. - I cannot view the data with the local instance name. This does not make any sense to me - the "remote" instance name is not needed at all for conncting to the DB2 server. Our Information Server V8.5 is under Windows Server...

Re: DB2 Connector Remote instance
Hi le thuong
in the DS 8.5 connector stage you can specify an instance name
make sure that - if specified - it is the DB2 instance name of the client
instance - the one where your DataStage server resides.
In my eyes they should have named it client instance - but who asks me
I hope this helps

Re: db2 source datastage
Hi dssubhani, this is simply SQL it is not related to DataStage it is just executed through DataStage. The two tables are joined on the iMessageType column and if a corresponding value exists in the vwNiceDBKitAuditMessageType table the RefFlag is returned with the result set. It seems that someone ...
