Thanks Ray for your immediate response. Here i need your suggestion, 3. The UniVerse-based technology does not enforce the same number of columns in every record. In addition, it supports nested structures, which made UniVerse an ideal choice for storing DataStage design objects (not just job object...

Thank you guys for your witty responses. And here i pose a few more questions over your answers. 1. Is there anything like DataStage Server Engine Architecture Diagram so as to illustrate the Interfacing between DataStage GUI and UniVerse with the flow of BASIC Language. 2. DataStage Server Engine(UniVerse)
Hello Everybody, I have a few questions about DataStage Server Engine(UniVerse). Questions: 1. How internally DataStage Server engine functions in the respect of UniVerse, Basic and DataStage? How these components are interacting with each other when a Server Job is designed and executed? 2. What ar...

Yes, but if you have an output file created every 5 minutes then you only lose the last 5 minutes worth of statistics. If you need every row accounted then you have to implement other changes. If you continuously update the same file then you have to deal with operating system buffering and/or excl...

Write a DS function that outputs to a Sequential file the metrics you desire. Consider using a Common block to hold row counts as the job continously runs. Then, every hour output a file containing metrics for that hour. You can easily gather up the metrics for the day that way. The reason I would ...
