Are there Plug-in stages in Parallel jobs

Hi, We would like to know if there are any stages considered to be as plug-in stages for parallel jobs. Stages like FTP and CFF are plug-in stages in server jobs. How about for parallel jobs? Are there any stages considered to be as plug-ins that needs to be taken care during the DS server installat...

Ok, thank you Craig.

I did try installing the Multi-Client Manager and faced some issues in that. I have posted it in a separate thread.

Thanks.

Thanks for your post Ray and chulett. We were able to implement it. Craig, we would be using this generated unique key only for insertion into one table. So, we could do it the way, Ray had said. But I would also like to undertand the technique that you have told. How could I generate a sequence num...

The overall application is still in development phase. So things can be very well changed. We would replace the usage of DS "KeyMgtGetNextValue" by using the Oracle's sequence. As mentioned by Ray, if we use the sequencename.NEXTVAL in the user-defined SQL, then what should be specified in...

Managing sequential unique keys

Hi, We were using a DataStage job to update a certain table. We were using the DS Transform "KeyMgtGetNextValue" to generate a unique Id whenever there were new records to be inserted. Now, a web application has been designed, also through which new records might be inserted. So, we have c...

Sequential File stage - writing to a Link name

Hi, We have a question about the Sequential File stage. When we write to a Sequential File stage, by default the File Name in the properties of the stage is the name of the input link. We would have to explicitly change that to a physical file location and a file name on the server. If we do run the...

Thanks for the information Ray!

You say that, in Server Jobs, DataStage does not cache the entire data set in memory. Is it the same way in Parallel Job as well or different?

A basic question on Database stage

Hi, We have a basic question on the way a Database stage works. Suppose we have a SQL on a source database stage that returns 2 million rows, how does DataStage handles it? Does DataStage executes the SQL and holds the 2 million rows in its memory and passes a chunk by chunk of rows to the next stag...

Thanks.

Hi,

We did get this error and it halted our development process for a considerable time. We use a lot of this DSExecute command and our DS server is on Windows.

So, where does this capture file or its equivalent sits in the windows server?

Thanks.
