Problem Solved

As mentioned in a previous post, I was missing the usage of $PROJDEF within the jobs.
That fixed everything.

Thanks for your help.

Didn't work.

Changing the variable only did not work.
The only way I could get it to work was to go into the individual job(s) and drop those 2 vrbls, and then add them in again.
This can't be the right way to do it.

How to run with changed variable values

I am running 20 jobs against Database1 (with its userID and Password). I want to run those 20 jobs against Database2 (with its different userID and Password). In the Administrator, I defined project variables DB_USR and DB_PSWD, and set them to the values for DB1. I compiled all the jobs, ran them, ...

We have multiple people working on a project -- for the last 2 months All of a sudden, 2 members of the group cannont enter DataStage Designer, with the following msg: ACCESS DENIED: You do not have access to this project. Insure that you are setup as a DataStage user for this project. See your Admi...

sql loader script runs outsd, but not insd Datastage

My unix script: sqlldr user/pswd@dbase control=<path>myfile.ctl data=<path>mydata.dat I can run this script on unix cmd line and it works fine. The data is loaded into the Oracle table (identified in the .ctl file) Then I use an Execute Command stage, calling this same unix script. In the log "...

Error from DataStage Login to a project

We have various users that are logging into the same DataStage project. But a new member of the team's login attempt gives the error: Record 2C605B81-1386-4A9D-9119-DE8021D168FC-TGHSWA003:10125 on file 29 cannot be written. That's pretty criptic. Is this a license issue? We have been told that we ha...

Ascential to Oracle 11i E-Bsiness Suite access and Licenses

When using named user licenses to access Oracle 11i and making a connection to the Open Interface Tables or the Extention/Custom tables from a parallel job on the Data Stage canvas you need to configure the job with user login and database instance. This probabily does not change if you are using pl...

Need workaround to " Job xxx being accessed by another

When a team is comprised of 10 or more people, and I need to get into one of my jobs, and someone else is in that job, then I have to call every person to find out who is in my job. Worse yet: Mr X opened my job, then minimized it, then exited DataStage, and then went on vacation for 2 weeks. The jo...

Need to know how to clean up datasets (whose header is gone)

Given a dataset file (xxxxx.ds), which is a pointer to the actual data stored in a Datasets directory. If we have deleted the header file (xxxxx.ds), without using the utility 'orchadmin delete' command, then we end up with orphaned dataset file in the Datasets directory. I understand that there exi...

How do I get 'special access' into Looking for Talent forum

I am with Lockheed Martin in Denver and we need to hire some DataStage experience.
I tried to enter a help-wanted entry into 'Looking for Talent' but it said I needed special permission to do that.
So, how do I do that???
