Hi there,
My company is changing the convention around the way our windows ntlogin looks.
for example, "jsmith" but will change to "john.smith".
Will this effect the DS client on each of our pc's?
Are there any other side-effects that you can think of?
Many thanks,
Mark

DataStage "running" / hanging for days
Hi, I have a job that appears to be running (in the Director). But it cannot be stopped and has been "running" (or hanging) for 2 days now. We've stopped and restarted DS, even adding an additional step in the restart sequence, ". ./dsenv" before executing "bin/uv -admin -st...

DS job on schedule
Hi, I have a datastage job which is scheduled in unix cron tab to run hourly. This job loads data from one table into another. What would happen if on a given day there was so much data to be loaded that this job ran over an hour.. would there be a "conflict"? would it still run at its sch...

trim in DS?
Hi there, Is there an equivalent to vb or oracle TRIM function in DataStage? I have a seqential file stage connected to one transform, then 2 output links from the transform stage. In the transform stage I'd like to trim the leading and trailing spaces in the contents of a field before sending the f...

Issues with sequential file stages
Hi, I have a DS problem I am hoping someone might be able to shed some light on. BACKGROUND: I have a DS job (A) which calls 2 other DS jobs (B,C). B and C are jobs which read the contents of 2 designated (and seperate) folders (folders "1" and "2") on the network. Both jobs incl...

DS scheduling
Hi there,
Does anyone know a simple way to schedule a DS job to run every 15 minutes?
I checked in the DS Director and it only allows once a day!
Am I seeing this right?
Thanks!

DS job calling shell script
Hi there, I have a DS job which calls a .ksh script (in the after -job sub-routine section of the jobs property sheet). The shell script resides on the same unix server as DS (box1). The shell script calls an oracle stored procedure (SP1) residing on another unix server (box2). SP1, in turn, calls S...

Hi there, I tried typing just @INROWNUM > 2 in the constraint section of my transform stage (which reads data IN from a sequential file OUT to an oracle table), and it did not work. Is there something else which I have left out? I'd like to skip the first 2 records of this text file and begin import...

loading the first record only
Hi there,
I have a sequential file, transform and oracle stage.
I want to load only the first record from the sequential file into my oracle table.
Is there a way to do this?
Thanks!

Thanks for the reply guys, Whats happening is when I load the data from a flat file into table 1 the process simply stops once a duplicate is encountered (product#,vendor#) - rather than continuing to process the rest of the file. I'm handling missing data with an expression in the constraints heade...
