for running a job am I suppposed to do any changes in the .profile.The .profile file has got just 1 line mail = . The message is as follows
failed to connect to jobmonapp on port 13403

what will the name of the file in the home directory

what actually you want me to check

this is in /usr/local/Ascential/DataStage/DSEngine/uvodbc.config

the data source name pull down menu shows only the first one that is nzsql but does not show me the other me at all.

THE file has got the following entries

DBMSTYPE = ODBC
network = TCP/IP
service = uvserver
host = 8.1.50.40

DBMSTYPE = ODBC
network = TCP/IP
service = uvserver
host = 8.1.50.40

the pull down menu shows the first one NZSQl but not the second one.

but when I go to new parallel job odbc source and give the dsn name userid and password and give a table name and column I am able to view the data in the column. But if I compile it says not configured

now I start opening a new parallel odbc connection and if I give the datasource name,userid and password I am able to connect but If I try starting a new server job it tells me that the datasource name is not configured.Actually I am not able to see that DSN in the pull down box and so I typed it.

If i make a change to .odbc.ini file should the server be restarted again, or when exactly the changes will take place

I am able to see the same dsn given to me .

I am able to see a dsn but when I select it I get the message invalid authorization BCI error

yes I mean my Pc when I say machine . And I want to access the data through odbc stage.

I was told that the entries have been made for those two files , on my machine what should I do.
