In the first run you would like to run the 3 and 4 job even if job 2 fails. Is that what you want? You can handle this in the link constraints that trigger the jobs. Make the constraint unconditional so that it will trigger the next job irrespective of success or failure. And on the second run it w...

It depends upon other factors such as what components you are using in your jobs and whether you are using external utilities. Generally the steps will be 1.) Take backup 2.) Install new OS ver 3.) Install new DS ver 4.) Test the DS jobs Did you check your upgrade / installation guide? The upgrade/...

cannot open properties of job activity stage in sequence

Hi, since a couple of weeks I cannot open the properties window of a job activity or routine activity stage in a sequence job. Other sequence stages don't cause this problem. Removing and reinstalling Datastage client didn't help either. Has anyone else come across this problem or any ideas to solve...

Yes ofcourse,

a system DNS ODBC connection is defined to the Access db. The job runs OK when I start it up in Director, that is the strange thing, only not when I start it from command line, then it crashes and says that the Access db is already in use, even when it's not openend by anyone...

But the userid and password of the access db is defined in the ODBC connection on the datastage server and that is also used when the job is started within director. Normally this won't make a difference.

or am I wrong?
