SUM(AMT) is basically summing AMT. So it is a derived function. It is not a new field. It is performing summation on the existing field AMT. So how can SUM(AMT) differ in metadata?

I have faced similar problem- but when using the Aggregator Stage to do a summing. I am using SUM(AMT) in the DB2 stage itself. The metadata is AMT(9,2) non nullable.. the query goes like this

SELECT SUM(AMT) AS AMT FROM <TABLENAME>

Ya. I tried that. Created a new job as told by you. When I tried giving SUM(AMT)..Same warnings...When I removed the SUM and gave just AMT, the warnings disappeared.. But in the original job I need the SUM..

AMT is non nullable in DB2 source table. I did a describe for it

Thanks for all your replies. The last one has premium content, I am unable to read it :oops: I am not a premium member One other piece of information - Actually I am carrying forward SUM(AMT) to the flat file. AMT is decimal(9,2).

I checked the metadata. The column is non nullable in it.

The problem was indeed in the .rhosts file in my home directory. There were some missing host entries in that file, which I rectified. Now it is working fine.
