keep job logs for terminated RTI instances
Is there a way to keep DataStage logs around for a terminated RTI instance? Maybe the job aborted, or maybe was simply stopped by an operator; regardless, I would like to know why it stopped, and what it was doing when it stopped. I have found if a) I have a DataStage Director open on the log detail...

did you really post the complete xml document?
Thanks a lot jgreve for your detailed reply. I removed the namespaces from xml document as suggested by eostic for testing and it makes the actual xml document broken. My actual document header is below. When you removed the p1: namespace declaration from the document, I think you need to also remov...

limited options
Sana - if your source will not change the document, then your options are limited. First, do you understand why the document you posted is broken? This is a key point . You must understand why the document you posted is broken before you can make progress. I'm guessing it is unclear to you, so I wil...

resolution - blank DESCRIPTION column in RTI services table
IBM support had our datastage admin set the description to an empty string in the database. The most helpful part from IBM support was that they explained where to find the database; in this case, it wasn't the default "derby" database that sometimes lives under the RTIServer/data folder, ...

"No RTI Services are present" in RTI Console
[edit]: cleaned up text, added 'things tried thus far' section. I was using the RTI Console to create a new RTI service, via the Add New Service wizard, to the RTI Server. I pasted the description into the wizard. When I hit [Finish], it came back with an error dialog: /!\ An error occurred while pe...

sequential files - flush option?
Is there a way to force a record by record flush for sequential files? In c, I'd use fflush( seqfile ); I would like a better idea of the output rate - is it steady? bursty? My job is buffering about 300 records between flushes, and at 3 to 5 minutes per flush, that seems like a coarse average. I su...

confirmation - thank you
The Web Services Pack is unable to import WSDL that is comprised of "multiple" files or additional xsd's. ... Ernie, thank you for confirming that behavior. Knowing that makes trouble shooting much easier. Hmm - I suppose I should open a ticket with IBM for this. In the mean time, I'll se...

problem importing <wsdl:include ...>
I'm trying to connect a WebServicesTransformer to a web service. The actual wsdl text is below (at end of post). symptoms: From DataStage Manager, I use Import->Table Definitions->WebServices WSDL Definitions... Once the Web Service Meta Data Importer opens, I give it the wsdl's url: http://myserver...

quality stage trivia: .prc = ?
A trivia question.
In rule set files, what does .PRC stand for?
I'm wondering what the original programmers were thinking.
Of course, it is the "ruleset description", but that would suggest
an extension like ".DSC" or ".RDS".
Perhaps Pattern Ruleset Comment?

When I tried local OS authentication I could use the Information Server console but could not log in through DataStage - however I was on unsupported Windows 2000. With internal authentication everything worked okay. As well, most of my installs have been test-runs on a laptop to get a look at it, ...
