Clicking on Run doen't do anything

Same is with Validating a Job, when I click on validate it shows nothing

Yes I can compile a new created job, it compiles without any error.

The job is not running when I make it to run...
Since the job is in compiled state I am not able to Reset it

I tried compiling the jobs, jobs are still not running they remain in compilied state.

There are no logs in the director

My mistake,

The removal of files was a UNIX level deletion but the import into the Testing was from a proper export file taken from production.

was something missed during the imports ??

By Data I mean only the DataStage Code that was in production

And Yes I did a UNIX level copy from production and deletion in Testing

We deleted all the Project related data in Testing and than Copied from Production, the Project related data to the Testing enviroment.

i need this this information as my cron is dependent on one job whose completion will trigger this cron so i want to check job status inside my cron.

i is there a way to check the Status of Job i.e. STOPPED or CRASHED or ABORTED from UNIX?

How to use datatype other(bigger) than that in DataStage's Varchar becuause in the source stage itself when i click on "view data" i encounter "identifier too long error".

Thankx Ray, Your suggestion sovled my problem :P , but know there is new problem, whatever error reason is stored in a variable and passed to the a job that insert it (error) in a table. Obstacle comes when job pass the parameter(which have stored error message) throgh the transformer job get aborte...

Being in Batch how could i use DSGetLogSummary as i do not know the eventid of job(in some other category) that has failed.
