Workaround.
Doing the installation from scratch to get rid of the missing files problem. Unfortunately, our Admin team is unable to restore selective files or folders.
Thanks.

Re: Performance tuning in Server Job (part of a sequence)
Hello DSShishya, This was more about the tuning of individual jobs rather than the sequence job (Green in color). Job sequence is more of control and sequencing of the jobs. As far the analysis to proceed, it is necessary to find out why the job (not the sequence but the exact job) took 2 hrs (now 7...

Re: Segmentation violation using dsjob on Win 2003 (DS 8.1)
Started from scratch and installed the whole application again.
That solved the problem. Have witnessed some undocumented problems hence feel that 8.1 is pretty unsafe.

It is safer to use conventional export and import utilities than to try using Information Server manager tools. With 8.X, it is much easier as Designer client can also do this functionality. The DSX file is a textfile. Most of the parameter values could be replaced by simple Ctrl-H using a text edit...

Thanks, Ray. But, I do not suspect this. BMC PAtrol is running on the system and it hasnt found any file deletions. Problem lies somewhere with fix pack 1, which was applied lately. Have it installed another Java_Home, I have no idea about. IBM support have been reported about this strange behavior....

Dear All, In my opinion, it isn't a good idea to segregate the operational jobs using projects. The concept of project was introduced to segregate the usage and certainly not for segregating the business streams. There is no point in going further and try something new. This is certainly not innovat...

Kindly refer the DataStage documentation before installation of the clients. Also, check for the correct version (patches for Windows). As suggested by our colleague, make sure that your registry entries are removed before the installation. That should take care of the problem. Many regards, Abhijit...

Re: Issue while inserting data in Oracle table using OCI
DataStage, by itself wont append any Control characters to the data stream.
The issue could be with NLS/Character set at the Oracle end. Get in touch with Oracle DBA and the NLS used by DataStage.
Many regards,
Abhijit Gaikwad
