I have a sequential file as a source having 100 columns.I have to use this file to process based on certain criteria & then Load it into a Data set file.

As per your explanation if I have a situation where in a new column of integer datatype has to be added to a an existing fixed length record,I have to convert the value to char first & pad spaces to the left so that length becomes fixed

I am new to Datastage .I would like to know is there any way which
can be used to import the Metadata of source having large no of columns
(Say a Data set file having 100 columns).
I dont want to manually add each & every column to creat the Metadata.
