ORACLE Load -unsupportive type for column not mentioned

Hi , I'm trying to load data to ORACLE through the load option. I have about 6 columns to load but the table has other additional columns and one of it is a LONG datatype. The job aborts saying the COL1 datatype not supported. How can i avoid this as i'm not interested in loading that LONG datatype.

Hi ,

I would want to make the ORACLE enterprise stage to read in parallel from the source. But by default it is sequential. But i have a user-defined SQL which has many table joined.
SO if i include all these tables used in the SQL in the partition option would all of them read in parallel ?

should the server be restarted ?

After setting the TMPDIR environment variable in each project , should the server be restarted for it to take in effect ?
Because i don't see any files created in the TMPDIR and still it created in /tmp directory only.

NLS Locale for storing UTC date time format

Hi All

We get the date time from the external system in EST format but would be required to store it in UTC format in the database . How can i achieve this ?

Can the NLS locale be of some help ? Or is there some setting to be done in Datastage to write it in the UTC format.

I do not get an extra field in my input data file so i would have to use the second method. My issue here is we have to store the date in the UTC format in the database. The NLS - Locale use...

Hi Ray ...

What exactly do you mean by detect.
From the timestamp , would we have to conclude if it is Daylight savings or not. and then apply the time difference accordingly ?

You might have to make the webspher user registry as active
