length conversion in the datastage

Hi all, when i import the metadata from the oracle tables the length is being changed by four times..eg the datatype is varchar2(30 char) is converted to varchar2(120) in the datastage.. why is this happening..and how is it happening? If my datatype and length of the column is varchar2(1000 char) it...

the reason i came to know is my datastage is in unix server and i have my login created .If i login in to the datastage with my login i am not able to create the hashed file but if i access with generic account i am able to create the hashed file

HI ALL, I have a hashed file in my job which has my tablename and system as the primary key coulmn.when i run the job once i will get an entry in to the hashed file and i have unchecked the option create file as i need to have entries all the tables that i run. First time i ran i get no error second...

oracle stage array size

hi all,
In my oracle stage and under the arraysize what should be the normal opted length.

some say we have to put arraysize as 1
and some say it to be 1000.

Does it have any performance on the arraysize

if I am correct the delimiter and terminator are one and the same

the delimiter that I have specified is 001(start of heading)
