Reading serialized Blobs & Deserialize the blob

We are reading a blob from Microsoft SQL Server which has serialized information. I need to read this blob - de-serialize this blob ( I have the schema for the serialized blob) and store this into Netezza DB. At a conceptual level - i understand that I would need to read this blob, de-serialize the ...

The stages were converting to plug objects as there is a limit on the max number of folder that can be supported on the server, and we are exceeding the limit.. We faced this issue of Plug object.

Should have read this adjust the UVCONFIG file to set hashed files to default to 64BIT, then create new projects which will then be 64BIT sized repository files. believe 32 bit default setting is the datastage set...

Dear all, When I took the problem of plug object to this is what they came up with. "My investigation reveals that there was some sort of corruption of the job during a 'rename' or 'save as'. The most likely reason is that /tmp space fill low or one of the important processes died unexpectedly....

All the replies have been extremely informative.

Thanks for sharing all the information. Frankly, I never knew about the 32 bit size limit imposed on the DS_JOBOBJECT.

Thanks again

Can someone share if there is a limitation on the maximum number of jobs that can be supported by a single project in DataStage. Also incase there is No limit on the number of jobs, I would like to know what are the factor that could limit the no of jobs in a project? I was suggested by IBM support ...

Rather than reindex, why not create a set of projects, export subsets of the big project and deploy into the new projects. Instead of having 2600 jobs in one project, look to manage this better. ... That means one should limit the number of jobs in the project.. Can you please suggest the maximum n...

Is the server loaded?

While running a sequence I get an error Error calling DSRunJob(<jobname>,code=-14 (Timed out while waiting for an event) I believe this timeout is because of processor unavilability. I say so because I found that one of the processes APT_PMsectionLeaderFlag is consuming most of my CPU resource for a...

Well, I am looking to use a sequential file with about 900 columns.

I would try this and see if that works. :)

Sequential file

I wanted to know if there is a restriction on the number of columns that can be defined for a sequential file. Is there a limitation on the size of the file that the datastage would support. I believe that there should be no limitation on the number of columns that can be defined in a sequential fil...

Thanks kirti for the reply, I would check these settings and let you know about the same. There is one more thing that I would want to know, Is there a way to export the log files out of datastage to create a seperate local log file (txt format) ? As I know that the log file in datastage is a hash f...
