Thanks for your reply Chulett.

i managed to get in touch with a few sales people who say that its a licensed product...

need to dig into this and find if a license was ever held for this as i see a installation attempt.

anyone else been here before???

can you connect to the database from the datastage box?
do you see a TNS entry on your datastage server for that database?

are those two fields coming from two different sources?

if you try joining those two sources and look at the data outside datastage....
do you find them to be identical?

what characters are they?

if your trying to fit each type of a record into a consistent metadata... you can read the file as a big varchar field.... split them into type based on first two values like you tried and then analyse if they can be delimited or treated as fixed length... either after writing a set of substring der...

so whats with the network then....

You have checked that writing the data from
db2table---->dataset or file is fast enough

How fast is the
dataset or file -----> db2 target table?

again... are those two tables on the same database? did you check the cataloging? is that fine?

How many inserts, how many records do you have in your target table that are going to be updated.... Did this job run faster ever before? Our DB2 databases do have licenses. i also see an attempted installation of DB2 client on our datastage box done ages ago, which doesn't seem to have all the folders it should ideally have. the insert update.....
can you try running that as a script outside datastage in DB2 administrator or any other tool you have...

does it work fine there....

if you are equating that column to a value in a if then else statement

equate the value to NullToEmpty(Column)='the value'

which stage are you using? API? when you set the array size to 1.... u still dont see records in your table?? you said it passed 102 records?? can you try using the EE stage to see if makes a difference... how big is that target table?? i hope u are not reading and writing to the same table :D all t...
