Thanks everyone for the solutions. Craig, you are right. I'm looking for multi row result set. I had pretty much hit the dead end as i can't use UV or odbc stage as that requires creation of DSNs and lot more stuff which i have to go thru DBAs and Admins. Instead i started re-designing the whole app...

Hi everyone, I have a requirement where i would need to retain duplicates out of hash file. my primary link is db2 stage going into a transformer. i have reference link coming out of hash file into a transformer stage. output link out of transformer stage goes to a sequential file. now, in hash file...

Yes, Craig. That was my other option --- to create a sequential file in first job and make use of that in second job as look-up file.

Thanks for the clarification on shared container.

Hi, I have a job (Job A) in which a huge query fetches data from a database thru a db2 stage then transforms and sends transformed data to an xml. Now, i have a requirement (Job B) to get all the data that was in earlier job plus a lot more i need to fetch from the db2 database. I was planning to ma...

Ray, if i move them under <None> user role then they wont even be able to login to the designer for the protected project. I would want them to be able to view the job designs but not make any changes to the job.

Thanks Guys. I'll try to convince our DBA for this. If not then i would go with the regular look up design.

Thanks Vivek. Let me put forward my understanding of your suggestion. You're saying, get the order_id into hash file and get everything from orders table (select * from orders) in db2 stage and then do look up on key columns(order_id) in the transformer stage. But, the problem here is if i do {selec...

Thanks Craig. But I'm not allowed to create/drop/delete any table on production database using datastage. Is there any other work around?
