Hi There, First of all I found no documentation on SendToDB.exe (except using -?), does anyone knows what does -e, -cf, -d etc... means ?? I can run SendToDB from the MS-explorer with no problem but when I try to execute it from a command line I get the following error: SendToDB.exe -v HUB_MS -m Com...

DS pack for Oracle applications

Hi There,

I've got some questions regarding the Datastage Oracle ERP pack.
Does anyone use the Oracle application pack to load data into Ora apps ?

If so, how did you do it ?

Regars,

hi,

I guess you did not create the metadata directory (from the directory administrator --> new)

I advise you to follow the metastage documentations, they are very good and easy to follow.

Looking for ways to improve import performance

Hi There, I working with MS234 + SQLServer 2000. My DS project contains hundreds of jobs and a lot more table definitions. The problem is that the import to MS is very slow (even though I'm using a strong 2cpu machine). I'm looking for ways to improve the imports performance. Here are some of my ide...

Hi Kevin, What you mentioned is the 'by the book' method. A very typical scenario is - metastage joins a long-time working project. The database is already there and the fields descriptions are in word documents or excel sheets. So I brought the table schemas using the ODBC metabroker but how do I a...

Adding knowladge to the metadata

Hi, In the organization I work for a lot of the metadata, mainly descriptions, comes from users and not from tools. There is a girl that her job is to take this knowledge and type it to the existing metadata dictionary. Since we are in the process of moving to Metastage I would like to know how does...

The code is just test example and therefore the use of PRINT commands. It's the quickest way I know to write code and debug in Datastage. The routine gets job name as a single arg and returns the name of the file from which the Cobol copybooks were imported. TABLENAME gets it's values from the outer...

Hi,

Can't help you with compileAll but If you'll export include 'job executables' when you import to the upgraded version jobs will already be in a runnable state.

MetaStage Vs. Teradata MDS

Hi there,

Does someone as experience working with both MetaStage and Teradata's metadata services (MDS).

Can Metastage replace MDS (I really hope so) ? if not, is there a way to combine them in order to get the 'best of breed' ?

Cheers,
Amos
