thanks for the reply ,

my column is in a dataset.
does that make it easy / difficult ???

i tried using nested conditions, but am not sure of how to provide a condition and that too based on a column that is in the resulting dataset of the previous job.

as mentioned by Sud, I have give a value '0' and then in the later stages have used setnull ,, however i wanted to know if it could be done at the sql level to reduce the burden on the transformer stage.

yes, what you say makes full sense, and yes the other values have to be given a single value, lets say the last value. now how do I do that in the aggregator stage? using the max function in agg. stage doesnot help as they are char fields. I am not able to see any option like last / first in the agg...

yes , like Vinay mentioned my problem is different,, I have the columns sorted and it works well if i take only the grouping columns and the column to be summed. the aggregation is just fine... the problem is how to propogate the columns that are not a part of grouping key as well as need no agg. to...

Aggregator stage

Hello everybody, I am using 7.1 parallel aggregator stage. There are aaround 30 columns passing through it of which grouping needs to be done on 17 columns and '1' column needs to be summed up. however the rest of the columns (number as well as char) need to be passed just as it is taking first/last...

Alternativly you can process the desired outcome in a job or routine and pass it as UserStatus to the Job Activity. Hello I have worked on 7.5 px and there I have used the derivation in passing the parameter . it is just like a basic transformer . eg.... param for infile = <File Patern>||current date (it is done either at job level or seq level ...donot quite remember) and this value --- out come = ccd1.plc.0005....

Is the teradata macro the same as the stored procedure ?
