cc1plus consuming CPU
Hello all, I did a quick search, and was surprised to not find any threads on this topic. I've recently noticed that our RedHat Linux dataStage server is pegged quite often with 0% idle CPU. During this time, I noticed that often, there are one or more "cc1plus" processes comsuming a lot o...

Hey all, I'm looking to upgrade from RHEL AS3,update5 to RHEL AS4, update 4. I've heard from the RedHat reps that there are significant performance improvements with this upgrade, given that the Linux kernel is updated, etc. The official word from IBM is that support for AS4 will come in the 8.0 DS ...

loading unicode data to SQL 2k
Hello, I'm having issues loading spanish unicode data from Oracle (UTF8) into a SQL Server 2000 database. I've tried using NCHAR datatypes, which didn't resolve the problem. But, after setting the ODBC Enterprise stage datatype on the column to LongVarBinary for the target SQL Server db, it seemed t...

We do have groups for each project, which are used to secure each project's data files, though the project files are owned by dstage. We also use project-specific groups for controlling access to the projects. But I think the problem is that since the primary group is not dstage or the project speci...

this is because our developer's unix id's have their own group as their primary group (instead of dstage). Therefore, we set the guid on the Projects directories recursively and intentionally, so that all of these files will be owned by the dstage group. Otherwise, developers will not be able to edi...

Interesting... The job compiled ok. Then I tried running the job from Designer, but ran into the same ol' error: Cannot open file RT_BP806.O Then I tried to look at the log in Director, and got this message: Error selecting from log file RT_LOG806 Command was: SSELECT RT_LOG806 WITH @ID LIKE '1N0N' ...
