Hi Franklin, Even by looking at the size of the .dsx files containing the executables from QA and PROD, we can tell the PROD one has not been updated because of the size of the PROD file alone. Our next try will be to export both design and executable from QA and import that into PROD, then see if o...

Hello Franklin, Thank you for your answer. Can you help me a couple of steps further? We normally export the design to a .dsx file and then import it to the next environment. Now we have exported the executable into a .dsx. However, how should we compare the executable codes? Can the .dsx files be o...

Hi Craig, Yes, the changes are there in production. The new jobs as well as the sequences with the new jobs in them. But after compiling and running, the sequence runs as if the new jobs have not been added to the sequence. We're using Manager for export/import actions. Unfortunately cannot read you...

Update: Even when deleting the sequence and recreating it directly in our production environment, the changes are not recognized, but the old sequence runs. Our conclusion is that changes to sequences are ignored when the name of the sequence is the same. Only sequences with a new name run as expect...

Changes to sequences ignored after import and compile
Hi all, We have a Development, QA and Production environment. Changes to datastage jobs and sequences are done in development, then exported/imported to QA, tested, then again exported/imported into Production. This has been running fine for years. Yesterdays change did not work well, though. We hav...

Use of the Filescan utility on Unix
Can anybody tell me how to use the Filescan utillity on Unix to go through input files when errors about record lengths are occurring?
I have successfully used this utility on Windows, but would not know how to do it in a Unix environment.
Thanks in advance
Martina

Match Designer - Test pass error
Hi, I try to create a match specification. When testing the pass the error below (OSHErrorLog.txt) is generated. Does anyone have an idea how to fix this? Thanks. ============ ##I IIS-DSEE-TFCN-00001 19:35:42(000) <main_program> IBM WebSphere DataStage Enterprise Edition 8.0.1.4665 Copyright (c) 200...

Match Designer Match Pass run failed
Hi, I try to redo the Quality Stage 8.0 Essentials course. No problems until I want to test the passes within the Match Designer. The error 'Match Designer Match Pass run failed' pops up. The Show Error(s) (OSHErrors.txt) and Show Full Log (OSHErrorLog.txt) are both empty. Setting up the Test Enviro...

Error in transformer stage during compilation
Hi, I've installed Information Server 8.0.1 together with Visual Studio C++ 2005 (as recommended by IBM on the release notes). During compilation the transformer stage (parallel job) fails. I've searched the other topics, but couldn't find a good solutions. Thanks in advance ========== Output from t...

Use Stage Variables when datasource is empty
Hi all, I am using a Routine SetUserStatus in Stage variables in my jobs to capture info that is needed in next stages. But if the datasource is emtpy, there are no records flowing through the transformer and the Stage variable will not get a value. SetUserStatus Routine: $INCLUDE DSINCLUDE JOBCONTR...
