Well there you go! I found the relevant entry in DSXchange almost by chance! If I'd only typed in the right search words it would have been easy. Here's the link to the answer, basically it's a couple of entries in DSParams that need changing: Below is the link sent to us from IBM support concerning...

I have not redirected log myself but worth checking, can you tell me where to look? Nothing obvious on the Director screen. The Status screen appears normal, there is just no log to view. I have just created a simple text file to text file job which surprisingly aborted but I am not able to see why,...

Director log empty although job has run
I am just trying to get a new DataStage Rel 8 installation up and running on AIX and, whilst the jobs are running, I cannot see any log entries in the Director. The View/Filter is set to Oldest to Newest, and I have also tried Show All, so I don't believe that's the problem. Any advice would be appr...

Shared Container encrypted parameter
I am creating a shared container which will write to an oracle table. The oracle stage characteristics will be passed in as parameters in the usual way. However, I notice that "encrypted" is not an option for shared container parameters which I want to use for the password. Does anyone kno...

If I understand tour requirement correctly then I have done this several times before! I also imagine your data looks like this: 100......Q11 A11 100............... 100.............. 100............... 100.............. 101.......Q11 A11 101.............. 101............. 101............. 101..........

The blocking information I was referring to can be found at the end of the match report (matchname.RPT) in the Data folder of the project. If you are doing an exact match with the Char comparison algorithym you do not need to bechanging the m or u probability settings. I think I ould leave these as ...

Buildop not outputting any rows
Has anyone come across this problem? I have created a simple buildop which looks for one character in another a string as a learning exercise. "1" is output when it finds the character and "0" when it doesn't, eg. 1 in 1234 gives "1"; 1 in 2345 gives "0". The ...

I have used QS reports in the past and, to be honest, it's not really worth the effort in my humble opnion. I think you will get on quicker and have less things to consider if you just take the output files in to your web process and take it from there. You might want to reduce their fixed length na...

Hmm! If you can I would try and find the logs and match report file if only because support will probably ask for them if you go down the help desk route which is looking likely! An alternative approach might be to actually implement the survivorship in DS. It's not too difficult and easier to suppo...
