Hi Kris,
I like your solution - seems simple enough. However, being new to DataStage, I don't know how I would implement this code. Does it get put into a particular stage or is it run from a console somewhere? I would appreciate your educating me on this.

"Check DS is set up correctly error"
Hello all! One of my cohorts is having a very difficult time getting things going on her new project. We are running DataStage Server Edition, v. 7.5.1.A running on Windoze (soon to be going to AIX Unix). Her source is Informix and she is using the Informix CLI driver utilizing a DSN that is already...

Possibly Oracle ignorant here...
Hi all, Doesn't Oracle have a 'DISTINCT' keyword or equivalent? If your sequel went something like this (borrowing some of the existing stuff from previous posts): select DISTINCT col, col2 from table group by col1, col2 You would then just use 'User Defined SQL' in your source stage and the sequent...

Wrong forum
Hi Siva,
If kumar's suggestion doesn't take care of your need, you might try asking in the parallel forum so you get your question in front of more people using your version of the tool.

Hello all!
Try taking a peak at this link: viewtopic.php?t=95235&highlight=connect++access
Hopefully that will help. I don't know all of the factors with your situation, but the link will give quite a bit. Good luck!

More information please about your question...
Hi ayush, It would help to have more information to be able to even think of helping: 1. What is the database engine where you are pulling the date from? 2. What format does the target need to have for the insert/update/whatever? 3. Are you going to assign a default time portion that is being tacked...

Some possibilities
Howdy! I don't remember the syntax but your DBA will know it. Run the DB2 command that will repair a damaged index on the target table. Make sure to hit the primary key/business key/clustered indexes and the like. What is the OS? If Windoze, reboot to reset everything and see if that makes a differe...

I think people need to put this is better perspective...
Hi all, I'm still a newbie to DataStage and this site has been a Godsend as far as I'm concerned. My company acquired the product but didn't bother to get most of us any training, so I have had to do it the way I always do - read a book and remember what I read. Of course, as most of you already kno...

We do need some more information to answer this
Hi, I think 'lstsaur' is right that SQL Server 2005 is not directly supported yet, but the ODBC driver may work provided you have the most recent MDAC loaded (though this is speculation on my part). If the other suggestion made ahead of my note here don't work for you, try using a user defined seque...

I agree with most of what has been posted with regards to connect speeds and quality of sound and the like. I also agree the speech needs to slow down, whether Texan, American, the Queen's English, or any other form of verbal communication. :D Perhaps, instead of subtitles we could focus on voice-ov...

Binary_Checksum in SQL Server 2000 for data change detection
Hello to all you DataStage Uber-guru's! I am still in self-paced training (which essentially means I'm reading the documentation for DataStage and postings on this wonderful website  ) and I have not been using the tool for very long. I appreciate all the input I have received over the course ...

What about Mono for running Windoze stuff from Unix?
Hi all!
Is there any possibility Mono would help here. Since it allows the running of .Net type stuff, could DS tie into that functionality to do what DSguru wants to do?

Hi all! Following along the lines of DSguru's suggestion with the items in the link provided, you might experiment with the read-only functionality provided by the MDB Tools project found here: http://mdbtools.sourceforge.net/. Please bear in mind, I am a DS newbie and I have no idea if this would w...

One possibility may have to do with patches. Check with product support and with the download site if available to make sure that you have all the DataStage patches that have been issued. I believe there is also something specific with Windoze XP as you mention in your post. We had an issue with the...
