yes sorry i misled, its the decryption algorithm which is important. But DSguru, a small doubt, as right now i am having the password ( not encrypted) in the flat file. Did u mean that in a job, i need to go job properties there i need to select Encrypted from (string, Encrypted etc...). I get all some stars. And this i need to paste it in the file from where i am taking password.

will it not be some * characters if i do this??

sorry for the trouble. It happens that i used the wrong name DSJ.JPBLASTTIMESTAMP instead of DSJ.JOBLASTTIMESTAMP I copied this from the acrobat reader and pasted in the manager. so never occured to me about the spelling mistake. so gotta be careful from next time :lol: But could u still help me out...

its a new database called netezza. it doesnt support EXCEPT as well. I wrote a correlated subquery (using NOT IN) but the system gets hanged .

are there any other ways to get it.
