IBM did release a patch.
The fix is to ensure that /usr/bin
appears before /usr/ucb in the PATH setting.

I still think bottom line the problem was using csh.

Possible reasons
There may have been two configuration issues involved. This was on Sun Solaris. 1) Make sure you are running sh or ksh. The DataStage Director is placing a \n in the crontab and messing up both jobs. Previous versions would properly place the new entry on it's own line. This issue may be resolved by a patch for the 7.x releases.
Reference Composite patch for ecase 63861 and 70788
This patch is specific to relase level 7.0 7.5.1 7.5.2 etc. You must receive binary opbject code from IBM for each release.
