can anyone suggest me how to read a packed unsigned decimal (source comes from mainframe) in datastage using CFF stage, packed signed are working but unsigned are not, when i try to view data inside datastage from CFF stage it shows as special chars(hex chars)

help is really appreciated

thanks for the answers - actually the datastage is also installed on citrix and 26 users acccess it parallelly the server thru citrix, as we have only 4 client pc's.
do you think this is one of the reason for paging space issue

the server crashed actually , paging space went up to 25GB but we allotted only 16GB which should be high

i have these config on windows server IBM datastage 8.1

16GB paging space
8G RAM
C: 30 GB FOR WINDOWS AND PAGING SPACE
D: DATA AND SOFWTARE
300GB

4 node config we are using right now

i want to cleanup the special characters

after populating sequential file , data is transmitted thru transformer and loaded into db2

actually the source is mainframe , ftp stage is used to get it to unix box first then CFF is used for translating and pushing data into sequential file.

any clue how to clean up special chars in char fields in db2 using datastage px

just double check the datatype again in table wheteher its decimal(38.0)
else change in datastage job the dataatype to decimal(38,0)

you can avoid that error
