Latency issue - Parallel Jobs called from a Job Sequence

We recently migrated from 7.5.1a to 8.1 FP1 and all the Oracle Patches you can stand. We have Job Sequences that will call 5-10 PX jobs - mostly sequential order. We noticed that our daily cycle seems to have increased, although testing indicated we should have shaved 1.5 hrs off the load. In any ca...

output job names from a .dsx file

I have several .dsx files that I inherited from an inept developer that are not named properly and no map to the contents has been provided. I would like to see just the job names. Does anyone have a utility that will parse out the job names from a .dsx file? I would rather not create a new project ...

Issue Deleting project through the administrator

I attempted to delete a project through Administrator when the client died. When I opened a new client session up, I could no longer see the project in the Adminstrator dialog, however when I attempted to recreate the project, it said that the directory already exists. Checking the directory via Put...

I have been using orchadmin and is a good workaround. I'd like for the client to work as advertised as it would be easier for some of our production support folks to deal with.

Thanks

Dataset Management does not work from Director or Designer

I am unable to open Data Set Mangment from the director or designer client. When I go to Tools>Data Set Manaement, I get the hour glass, but the dialogue box never shows itself. If i look at task manager, it reveals that Data Set manager is running, but eventually (after a few minutes) will move to ...

Prior to my 8.1 cycle run, I copied out my staging tables, then run an 8.1 cycle, then compare the 8.1 staging tables to the 7.5.1a version of the staging tables. It is here, in the Oracle DB (same DB instance/same schema - copy of the table with a different name) that I see the difference. I am not...

I'd prefer not to modify all the jobs in my daily cycle.

I should also note I am writing to Oracle - using the Enterprise Stage from 7.5.1a.

Thanks

float/decimal differences in 8.1 vs 7.5.1a

I am in the process of moving to an 8.1 FP1 environment from 7.5.1a. During data validation, I noticed that my decimal and float results were differen in 8.1 vs the same job in 7.5.1a. Jobs are the same and I am using a clone of my production Data Warehouse for a specific date and time (copied out m...

So looking at my syntax to pass muliple parameter sets... is that correct?

Thanks

I have not tried but conceptually you cannot do that .Its as good as passing each parameter twice . I have my parameters divided between static and dynamic parameters. the values files can change based on geographic region. the job uses both the static parameter set and the dynamic. the parameters ...

DB2 Unload Utility

Is the DB2 unload utility supported in 8.1? Seems like it was on the enhancement list for 8.0.

If so how do you implement?

Thanks,

Bill

Tony,
I had exactly same error as you mentioned above, that all 7.5 point to "../admin.exe ". IBM tech support asked me to reinstall the clients to fix the issues. I want to check with you if there is other solution for fixing this issues.

thanks in advance.

I was hoping the docmentation was lacking and that there was a workaround that would allow the use of this stage to source a batch pipes feed. However IBM confirmed that is not the case. You can only use this stage to source directly from DB2 z/OS tables. Batch Pipes is supported if using this stage...
