Hi Brigitta, I dont have the stage installed hence cant provide you the demo job, but as far as i remenber you dont have to give a description for the message (just define the data type and its size). Moreover, are you reading from the MQ or you are writing to the MQ? Also it will be good to go thro...

why dont you try creating a befor job subroutine.
code tthe subroutine to check the size of the file, if the size is zero then send mail, and use it as a befor job subroutine in your job!

thanks

you get 2 colums out of MQ!
1. Invocation ID
2. message!

the message is a whole long stream of message (say 25000 char long). You need to parse that message using some logic. What i have used is a XML stage to parse it and get the data in required format!

try it!

DATATAGE EXPORT's

Using the datastage client utilities we can export the jobs. dsexport.exe provides option for design or executable for a job. When exporting the whole project using dsexport if we use a switch /exec /append, the command fails? (it works for exporting individual job) can you tell me that when...

Just curious as to why you need to run the sql query from the Dos prompt. If you can describe why you need to do it that way, there may be another solution. It is a little program written by me in VB. They may post source code for something like this in a members only area. If that would be somethi...

Running a SQL from dos command

Here goes one more stuff. We can write various sql's and run them in routine using "EXECUTE", but is there a way to run the same command (TCL) at dos prompt by any means? I gave a thought to this and can think of following options: 1. Write a routine and execute it from DOS Prompt (cant fi...
